Aim

To learn the Lithuanian language or to improve the existing language skills; to gain insight into Lithuanian culture by participating in lectures, cultural activities, to become one of the few people speaking one of the oldest languages in the world, to make friends all around the world, to gain professional insight into online learning.


Learning outcomes

By the end of the course students will be able to:

  • speak, read and write in the Lithuanian language (at A1, A2, B1, B2, C1 or C2 level);
  • understand the historical, social, and (geo)political situation in Lithuania and learn to provide your valuable approach to it;
  • possess knowledge about Lithuanian cinema, music, art, food and literature.


Programme Structure

Lithuanian language lectures, cultural lectures, group work, entertaining activities, individual tasks, interactions with Lithuanians Topics: 

  • History: from the legendary Great Duchy of Lithuania, to propaganda and resistance during the Soviet times and the contemporary Lithuania 
  • Virtual museum visits 
  • E-meetings with well-known Lithuanian figures 
  • Introduction of Lithuanian classical and popculture 
  • So much more, but let’s leave something for the surprise
