What to expect A Soviet-era-hotel-turned-dormitory which while is a rather exotic option bringing you three decades back, has been adapted to student life. Its reconstruction is scheduled for this autumn and it could really use some refurbishments, so if you are more of a backpack traveler ok with very basic living conditions, then it’s perfect for you. Bonus: you will want to spend more time outside exploring the city 😀 Recently established building at a convenient location, a pinnacle of student accommodation with all the amenities and great feedback from our last year’s participants.

Bedding included into the price, Wi-Fi on all floors, two kitchens per floor. Kitchen utensils (cookware, i.e. pots, pans, etc.) are not provided. Reading rooms are located in seventh and first floors of the dormitory.

Self-service laundry-drying room is located in the dormitory’s basement. These services are charged additionally (laundry service – 3 EUR (10 kg), drying service – 1,5 EUR (10kg)).

Leisure area with a TV, table tennis are in the dormitory’s lobby.

Single or double rooms with private bathrooms, private kitchenettes, fully equipped with furniture, dishes, refrigerator, freezer, microwaves, bedding sets. Common leisure zones (including table tennis, table football, chess board, study rooms, co-working area with cinema screen, library, rooftop terrace, big common kitchens with all equipment, laundry rooms, safe backyard, gym, reception desk 24/7 with SOLO SOCIETY Coffee point).

You pay when you arrive. For this, you need to register to the university system and then pay the amount at the local bank.

If you want to pay the full amount only upon your arrival, you must transfer a non-refundable deposit of 100 Eur to secure the room within 7 days after the invoice is issued (that amount will be deducted from the full amount you will pay on the spot).

After registration room availability is checked with the partner and if it is confirmed, you will get an invoice that has to be paid within 7 days to secure your reservation.

Students can also arrange their own accommodation, if they wish. Hostel prices start from around 10 EUR/night. There is also a wide selection of 2–4 star hotels in Kaunas. Find more information about the hotels here.

*you will be automatically assigned a room with another BSU student of the same gender, unless you indicate in your registration form a specific person with whom you want to live.
